NYE Hangover Cure for Busy Moms
If you are anything like me, it doesn’t take much champagne to send you into hangover land, but who wants to miss a toast at midnight on New Year’s Eve? Unfortunately, those of us with young children don’t have the option of sleeping in until noon on January 1. Luckily, this recipe for Golden Milk will help to cure almost anything that ails you after a fun night out. It’s slightly sweet, creamy without having any dairy (which can upset our bellies even more), and it contains a ton of anti-inflammatory properties thanks to the fresh ginger and turmeric. Even better, you can keep all the ingredients on-hand in your pantry, bust them out when-needed, and be on your way to recovery in under seven minutes. What more can you ask for? The recipe is below. Enjoy, and please celebrate responsibly!
Golden Milk Recovery Tonic for Post-NYE Aches and Pains
Oat milk (1 box)
¼ cup maple syrup
1 4-inch knob of fresh ginger, peeled and grated
3 knobs fresh turmeric, peeled and grated
½ tsp black pepper
1 tsp kosher salt
Cinnamon for garnishing
Put all ingredients except for the cinnamon into a medium saucepan and bring to a simmer. Stir occasionally. Put a lid on the pot after a few minutes, turn the heat off, and allow the mix to steep for 3-4 minutes. Give a stir and taste for seasoning. Add more salt, spices, or maple syrup, depending on your desired taste. Pour into mugs, and top with a sprinkle of cinnamon. Enjoy!
