Tonight I...

Tonight I...

Arrived home from a full day of work, lunchtime doctor appointment, and morning daycare duty at 5:40 PM. Yes, I know that is considered early for some people, and I’m grateful, but when wake up is at 6 AM, arriving home to “start” my second job a mere 12 hours later doesn’t seem like such an accomplishment.

Tonight I...

Played house with my daughter and her three babies. I sung “Can’t stop the feeling” 13 times (13 times I had to re- wind and watch the same 3 minutes and 57 seconds of Trolls). You would think I could change the channel while she was busy tucking baby #1 into her crib or brushing baby #2’s hair, but the insta second Poppy’s high pitched voice disappears she immediately begs for mo’ Poppy, mo’ Branch and it’s easier to appease her than fight to watch Channel 7.

Tonight I...

Made dinner, well, heated up leftovers from yesterday’s crock pot meal of shredded taco chicken. It was far from gourmet, but still tasty and got the job done without leaving a mountain of red sauce and noodles, her usual go to, on the floor next to her chair.

Tonight I...

Cleaned up dinner, put the dishes in the sink, and wiped down the table. I cleaned up my daughter (ha!), put her in freshly washed PJs, and brushed her teeth. All without a single tear!

Tonight I...

Changed the load of laundry I threw in when I got home, did I forget that earlier?

Tonight I...

Read 4 night time stories, Took 7 pictures. Gave thousands of kisses, Facetimed with 2 sets of parents, and thought to myself, “Wow, I’m lucky,” for the entire 3.5 hours of back to back mom chores.

Tonight I....

Had a non stop, jam packed day and night of working, cleaning, playing, laughing. I took care of my house, my daughter, my husband and myself.

Tomorrow may be a different story.
There may tantrums, and traffic, no dinner made, no baths.

But Tonight... tonight I had a good night.
