2 children, Rafael who is 6 and Agustin who is 4
I work full time as the CEO of Shop4ties. We are a family-run company that design and manufacture custom neckwear such as: ties, bow ties, scarves and Hawaiian shirts. My dad started this company in 1982 and I took over in 2014 after his passing.
BIGGEST CHALLENGES AS A WORKING MOM:
I face so many challenges on a daily basis that I don’t even know where to start. I think my biggest challenge is seeing something to completion, I have so many things flying around in my brain between work, kids, scheduling and life that I am not quite sure if I ever finish anything that I start. I am also constantly challenged by how much time I spend with my kids and what kind of mom I am, I think I am my own worst enemy.
TIME SAVING TIP FOR WORKING MOMS:
I think the only thing that keeps me sane is calendar planning and organizing what I need to do in advance so I am not trying to do everything last minute. My husband and I normally sit down and plan out who needs to be where and when and if we don’t have coverage, who we can get to help us, this mostly works but there are always curve balls thrown at you.
ANY WORKING MOM GUILT?
I am not sure I deal with it, it waxes and wanes depending on how chaotic life is at a particular moment. I try and talk to/spend time with a lot of other working moms to not feel so alone and know that the struggle is real!
CAN YOU HAVE IT ALL?
I don’t know if you can “have it all.” I think this is a very personal question and each person’s “have it all” is also very personal. I wouldn’t say I have it all, but I do love being a working mom, I might lose my mind even more if I didn’t love what I did so much and get a chance to leave my “mom” role at home sometimes. I think that is a really loaded question and not sure I have the right words to answer it. :)
